[Stockholm, Sweden, January 13, 2022.] Swedish manufacturer of thin film solar roofs Midsummer increased order intake of its discrete, light and flexible solar roofs to SEK 53.5m in the full year 2021. It is an increase of 215 percent compared with the preceding year. Also, invoicing of solar roofs increased by 251 percent to SEK 37.5m in 2021.
“Installation of solar roofs is seasonal in northern Europe and particularly December is always a relatively weak month so order intake for the fourth quarter was not as high as during the preceding two quarters in 2021,” said Sven Lindström, CEO of Midsummer. “Having said that, record sales during summer led to a record-breaking invoicing of SEK 17m during the fourth quarter of the year, and of just over SEK 37 million for the whole of 2021.”
“During the last quarter of this year, we have significantly strengthened our installation organization, which was previously a bottleneck that led to delivery times of over a year for our most popular models of solar roofs. Our increased installation capacity has led to a large number of completed installations, and thus a record invoicing for the quarter, but above all it means that we can now reduce our delivery times on the popular SLIM model again, which opens up for an even higher order intake in 2022.
Midsummer will announce its annual report for 2021 on February 25.
Midsummer also develops and markets production equipment for solar cells in the form of the DUO system. DUO is the most widespread production system for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world.
