Swedish manufacturer of solar roofs Midsummer increased order intake of its thin, light and flexible solar roofs SLIM, WAVE and BOLD by 380 percent in the second quarter this year compared with the same period last year.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\u201dDemand is still strong for our beautiful solar roofs made in Sweden,\u201d said Sven Lindstr\u00f6m, CEO, Midsummer. \u201cThe fact that they are thin and discreet with a climate footprint of only one tenth of traditional solar panels have really struck a chord with conscious consumers.\u201d<\/p>

Order intake of solar roofs during the second quarter of this year amounted to SEK 13.5m, an increase of 380 percent from the same period last year.<\/p>

\u201cThese are very strong numbers despite the pandemic which has prevented us from seeing as many customers as we would have wanted. A survey commissioned by us shows that more than half of Swedish home owners are looking to install solar cells on their properties, and relatively soon \u2013 within a few years. This proves that the end consumer market is mature and ripe to be harvested and we want a big share of it.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cIn the past few months, we have strengthened our sales teams further with new employees which will increase the tempo in our growth during Q3 which is normally a strong quarter for us,\u201d concludes Mr. Lindstr\u00f6m.<\/p>

Midsummer will announce its full report for the second quarter on August 31.<\/p>

Midsummer also develops and markets production equipment for solar cells in the form of the DUO<\/a> system. DUO is the most widespread production system for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world.<\/p>
