[Stockholm, Sweden, April 1, 2021.] The Swedish manufacturer of solar cells and solar panels Midsummer\u00a0(http:\/\/www.midsummer.se\/) increased order intake of its thin, light and flexible solar panels SLIM\u00a0(https:\/\/midsummer.se\/midsummer-slim\/), WAVE\u00a0(https:\/\/midsummer.se\/midsummer-wave\/) and BOLD\u00a0(https:\/\/midsummer.se\/midsummer-bold\/) by 551 per cent during the first quarter this year compared with the same period last year.<\/strong><\/div>

\u201dWe have shifted our business focus over the past year and are investing heavily in marketing our building integrated solar panels to the end consumer market as we see enormous potential for beautiful \u00a0and easily installed sunroofs that basically look like ordinary roofs,\u201d said Sven Lindstr\u00f6m, CEO, Midsummer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Order intake of solar panels during the first quarter of this year amounted to SEK 9\u00a0870 000, an increase of 551 percent from the same period last year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe big increase in sales in this period is validation that we are on the right track. Our attractive roofs have been received very well by customers and demand is increasing strongly from both private and commercial property owners.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe are supported by more conscious customers, both in terms of environmental impact and design. Our hyper-efficient production process means that our panels have a carbon footprint that is only one tenth of most other panels,\u201d concludes Mr. Lindstr\u00f6m. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Midsummer will announce its full quarterly report on May 17.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Midsummer also develops and markets production equipment for solar cells in the form of the DUO<\/a> system. DUO is the most widespread production system for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
