’’Our unique selling point has always been the appearance of our solar panels and we constantly strive for our customers not to have to compromise between elegance and efficiency”, said Sven Lindström, CEO, Midsummer. “Now that they are becoming even more visually invisible as well as more effective, it feels very promising. We believe and hope that this will create an even greater interest in our products.”
The new Power Mesh Technology consists of a dense array of wires for current collection instead of the regular ribbons, which leads to less resistive loss in the solar panels. The PMT-solar panels have a larger active area and less shading, resulting in higher current. With the introduction of this technology, Midsummer can increase the average module power by up to 10%.
An important part of Midsummer's daily work is to conduct extensive research and product development. The research team works primarily on improvements in the efficiency of solar cells and the development of new types of thin and building-integrated solar panels.
