Midsummer named as one of Sweden’s fastest growing companies

[Stockholm, Sweden, October 18, 2018.] Solar energy technology company Midsummer AB (publ) has been named as one of Sweden's 50 fastest growing technology companies in 2018, according to Deloittes Technology Sweden Fast 50, and has also been crowned a “Gazelle company” 2018 by Sweden’s most influential financial daily Dagens Industri for being one of Sweden's fastest-growing companies all categories. Deloitte, one of the world's leading audit and consulting companies, lists the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Sweden each year. Solar energy technology company Midsummer topped the Fast 50 list in 2012, when it was also named the fastest growing cleantech company in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
 
This year, Midsummer has again been listed as one of Sweden's 50 fastest growing technology companies. Fast 50 is based on criteria such as rapid growth, ownership of patented technology, major investments in technology research, and certain minimum levels of revenue and the number of years during which the business has been operating.
 
Also appointed a “Gasell” company
Midsummer is also included in this year's prestigious list of "Gasells" (Gazelles) by Dagens Industri, Swedens biggest daily financial newspaper. In order to be appointed as a Gasell company, the company must meet certain financial and growth criteria. Also, the Gazelle jury does an overall valuation of the company and weighs in additional parameters that show a healthy business.
 
The exact ranking on each of the two lists are only disclosed by the organizers later this autumn.

Midsummer AB tidigarelägger offentliggörandet av delårsrapport för tredje kvartalet till den 15 november

Solenergiföretaget Midsummer AB (publ) meddelar idag att bolaget kommer att tidigarelägga offentliggörandet av delårsrapporten för Q3 2018 till torsdagen den 15 november istället för fredagen den 16 november som tidigare kommunicerats.
 
Midsummer AB har beslutat att tidigarelägga offentliggörandet av sin delårsrapport för Q3 2018 från fredagen den 16 november 2018 till torsdagen den 15 november 2018.  Anledningen till tidigareläggningen av offentliggörandet är att bolaget önskar presentera delårsrapporten på G&W Småbolagsfrukost som hålls torsdagen den 15 november på IVA Konferenscenter, Grev Turegatan 16, Stockholm, 8.30-11.30. Swedish solar energy technology leader Midsummer reports strong first half of financial 2018

[Stockholm, Sweden, August 31, 2018.] Solar energy technology leaderMidsummer, one of the world's leading developers and suppliers of advanced solar solutions, has today announced its financial results for the period January – June of 2018. The company has experienced a record high volume of orders received during the first half of the year - about SEK 153m [EUR 14.3m; USD 16.7m] - and good profits.
 
Midsummer’s revenues in the first half of 2018 were approx. SEK 103m, with profits of approx. SEK 19m. There are no comparable numbers for the same period in 2017 since 2018 is the first year when Midsummer, recently listed at Nasdaq First North Stockholm, compiles a half-year report. For the entire financial year 2017, Midsummer’s revenues were SEK 115m and its profits SEK 25m.
 
”Global demand for the company’s turnkey equipment for the manufacturing of thin film solar cells is increasing and Midsummer has had a good start to 2018 with record high orders received and strong profits,” said Sven Lindström. CEO, Midsummer. ”Our organization is expanding; We have hired 30 new employees this year, most of them engineers.”
 
The financial report for the first six months of 2018 contains the following major developments:
 
·      Net revenues were SEK 103m, which can be compared with net revenues of SEK 115m for the full year 2017.
·      Profits were SEK 19m, which can be compared with SEK 25m for the full year 2017.
·      Orders received for the first six months were SEK 153m, and the order book value as of June 30 was SEK 67m.
·      Midsummer did a rights issue of approx. SEK 100m that was oversubscribed by 400 percent. The company’s shares were listed on Nasdaq First North Stockholm on June 21 2018.
·      Midsummer’s flexible solar modules were awarded UL certification with the highest fire code classification in the USA, which means that they can be installed on commercial roofs in forest fire high hazard areas in California.
·      Launch of a new web site where customers can calculate their own individual energy generation with installation of Midsummer’s new building integrated solar cell roof ”Clix by Midsummer”.
·      The number of employees has grown from 45 to 75 from the beginning of the year until June 30.

Solar energy technology leader Midsummer receives repeat order from Asia - Order value of approximately MSEK 30

[Stockholm, Sweden, August 23, 2018.] Solar energy technology leader Midsummer, one of the world's leading developers and suppliers of advanced solar solutions, has received a repeat order from Asia for production equipment worth about 30 MSEK. A partial payment will be made within 30 days. The production equipment will be delivered to the customer during the first half of 2019.
 
Solar energy technology leader Midsummer is experiencing greater global interest in the company's proprietary compact system for fast, fully automated manufacturing of CIGS solar cells. Midsummer has now received a repeat order for equipment for the production of thin film solar cells from Asia worth about 30 MSEK. The production equipment will be delivered to the customer in the first half of next year and a partial payment will be made within 30 days.

Solar energy technology leader Midsummer expands: Recruits new Production Manager from Saab

[Stockholm, Sweden, August 20, 2018.] Recently listed Swedish solar energy technology company Midsummer, one of the world's leading developers and suppliers of advanced solar solutions, has hired 30 new employees since the beginning of the year to ramp up production in the wake of increased demand. The company has recently recruited a new Production Manager, Sven Pettersson, whose most recent assignment was with Saab Industrial Group, where he worked with logistics, purchasing and production planning.
 
The recently listed solar energy technology company Midsummer strengthens its management with a new Production Manager to further accelerate the production volume. The company is experiencing greater global interest in DUO, the company's proprietary system for fast, fully automated manufacturing of CIGS solar cells.
 
Sven Pettersson has been working at the defence industry group Saab since 2011 in a variety of roles, most recently as production controller responsible for logistics and purchasing. Sven has previously worked with similar tasks in other companies, including Strålfors AB and Aerosol Scandinavia AB, and has a solid and long experience in logistics, purchasing and production planning. Sven has an education in information logistics and calculation from Linné University in Sweden. Sven starts his new employment at Midsummer on August 21.
 
"Mr. Pettersson has extensive knowledge and experience in logistics, purchasing and production planning. As Midsummer’s new Production Manager he will be a good addition as we now intend to further increase our production rate to meet the increased global demand for our products”, said Sven Lindström, CEO of Midsummer AB.
 
Since the beginning of 2018 Midsummer has increased the number of employees from 45 to 75, and plans are made for further recruitment in technology as well as marketing and sales.
 
Midsummer shares were listed on Nasdaq First North Stockholm on June 21 this year. In connection with the listing, the company implemented a heavily surrendered new issue of approximately SEK 100 million to expand its production capacity from about 10 to 40 DUO machines per year to establish a production line for "Clix by Midsummer" - a ’plug & play’ metal roof with integrated solar cells, as well as for marketing and strengthening the working capital.

Solar energy technology leader Midsummer goes public - Share issue 5x oversubscribed

[Stockholm, Sweden, June 21, 2018.] Swedish solar energy technology company Midsummer has done an initial public offering (IPO) and its shares is today listed on Nasdaq First North Stockholm. As part of the IPO, the company issued new shares valued at SEK100m [$11.5m; EUR9.8m] and the share offer was oversubscribed by 400 percent.

Midsummer is a leadingdeveloper and supplier of advanced solar energy technology solutions for the production and installation of lightweight thin film solar panels, including manufacturing systems and BIPV solutions. The company recently carried out a public share offering of approx. SEK100M that was snapped up by investors in full (oversubscribed by 400 percent). The company’s shares are today listed on Nasdaq First North Stockholm.
 
“The listing opens an opportunity for global small and large investors to own shares in a highly innovative, fast-growing and profitable solar energy technology leader, and be part of the renewable energy revolution,” said Sven Lindström, CEO and co-founder, Midsummer. “The IPO also gives us financial muscles for our planned rapid expansion, including increased production capacity of the company’s flagship DUOthin film solar cell manufacturing system, as well as the launch of Clix by Midsummer– a PV integrated metal roof.”

Midsummer’s ticker code is MIDS and the company’s shares can now be traded at Nasdaq First North Stockholm, Nasdaq’s European growth market designed for small and growing companies. Teckningsperioden avslutad för solenergiföretaget Midsummer inför listning – övertecknades flera gånger

Anmälningsperioden för teckning av aktier i Midsummer, en svensk snabbväxande och prisbelönt utvecklare och leverantör av avancerade lösningar inom solenergi,avslutades den 5 juni. Erbjudandet övertecknades cirka 400 procent. Därmed tillförs bolaget cirka 100 miljoner kronor.
 
Midsummer har ansökt om listning av Bolagets aktier på Nasdaq First North från och med den 21 juni 2018. Inför listningen genomför Midsummer en nyemission med teckningstid som avslutades den 5 juni. Intresset för att äga Midsummeraktier var mycket stort och nyemissionen blev övertecknad cirka fem gånger – totalt önskade institutionella investerare och småsparare sammantaget teckna aktier för cirka 500 miljoner kronor. Erbjudandet omfattade 6,175 miljoner aktier à 16,20 kronor vilket tillför bolaget cirka 100 miljoner kronor.

Anledningen till den starkt ökade omsättningen och vinsten är växande ordervolym från Asien för Midsummers innovativa och unika system för produktion av tunnfilmssolceller, DUO.

Midsummer, en svensk snabbväxande och prisbelönt utvecklare och leverantör av avancerade lösningar inom solenergi, genomför en nyemission på cirka 100 miljoner kronor med avsikt att lista bolagets aktier på Nasdaq First North den 21 juni 2018.
 
Midsummer har ansökt om listning av bolagets aktier på Nasdaq First North från och med den 21 juni 2018. Styrelsen för Midsummer, en svensk snabbväxande och prisbelönt utvecklare och leverantör av avancerade lösningar inom solenergi, har beslutat att genomföra en nyemission på cirka 100 miljoner kronor samt ansökt om listning av Bolagets aktier på Nasdaq First North från den 21 juni 2018.

Inför listningen genomför Midsummer en nyemission med teckningstid under perioden 21 maj till den 5 juni. Nyemissionen tillför bolaget cirka 100 miljoner kronor vid fullteckning. Midsummer har erhållit teckningsförbindelser från större investerare däribland Skandia Fonder, Nordea Fonder, Sensor Sverige Select och Ålandsbanken vilka uppgår till 85,7 miljoner kronor.

Another record financial year for Swedish leading solar energy technology provider Midsummer

[Stockholm, Sweden, April 5, 2018.] Midsummer, the leading developer and supplier of advanced solar energy technology solutions for the production and installation of light weight thin film solar panels, today announced its financial results for 2017. Revenues nearly doubled and profits more than doubled, due to several new orders for the company’s DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system and a successful launch of Midsummer’s new BIPV concept.

2016 was a record year for solar energy technology leader Midsummer during which revenues and profits doubled compared to 2015. After closing its annual accounts for the 2017 financial year, it can be concluded that the company has done it again: revenues for 2017 increased by 94 percent compared with 2016, up from SEK 59m to SEK 115m (USD 14m; EUR 11.3m). Annual profits before taxes increased by 135 percent, from SEK 10.4m to SEK 24.5m (USD 3m; EUR 2.5m). The operating margin was 21.7 percent and the solidity was 36.3 percent.

The reasons for Midsummer’s strong performance are several new orders for the company’s compact DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system and a positive market response to its new BIPV business concept.

”Needless to say, we are very pleased with the financial results for 2017,” said Midsummer’s CEO Sven Lindström. “We see a continued high demand for our products and the order outlook for 2018 is very promising, both for DUO manufacturing systems and for deliveries of solar panels. We expect to double the number of employees in 2018.”

The DUO system has established the position as the most widely spread manufacturing tool for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world. Midsummer is today the only company in the world to offer light, flexible, robust solar panels with a high energy efficiency.

Midsummer solar cells are integrated into Tarpon Solar's canvas - The solution takes first place in the MTI Technology Award

[Stockholm, Sweden, November 15, 2017.] Norwegian tent cloth company Tarpon Solar, together with Midsummer, a leading Swedish developer of flexible solar solutions, has developed flexible tarpaulins and canvases with integrated solar cells. These flexible fabrics enable e.g. industrial halls, temporary structures and tents to produce renewable energy.

The Norwegian company Tarpon Solar AS, together with Midsummer AB, has developed a canvas in which solar cells have been laminated into the screen in a very innovative manner. For this solution, they have now won the 1st place in the Technology and Innovation Competition MTI Technology Award.

“Each cloth is made for the purpose it will be used for, so the amount of fabric and type of fibre and layer vary. The solar cells are integrated in the production itself and become part of the material”, said Marius Borg-Heggedal, Technical Manager at Tarpon Solar AS.

Tarpon Solar develops canvases for large outdoor structures such as sun shading, stages and much more. The company has now designed a laminated fabric with stable, static structures that do not extend and realised that this material has the properties needed to integrate with Midsummer's thin film solar cells. 

"We obviously see great potential with this solution. Being able to produce renewable energy in a canvas opens up for so many different applications around the world”, said Mattias Dahlberg, Project Manager at Midsummer AB. 

Tarpon Solar uses Midsummer's thin film solar cells, as they are light enough, flexible and robust for the purpose. They produce about 120 watts per square meter. With the technology used, very light canvases are produced. With integrated solar cells, the weight becomes almost the same as with conventional PVC material and the canvas is also stronger and more durable.

Swedish leading technology provider Midsummer receives two new orders for its DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system

[Stockholm, Sweden, August 21, 2017.] Midsummer, a leading technology provider of equipment for cost-effective manufacturing of flexible CIGS thin film solar cells, has received an order for two compact DUO solar cell manufacturing systems.

Midsummer has again received two new orders for its compact DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system from an undisclosed customer. Due to a strong demand for lightweight, flexible modules, the customer has decided to buy two new DUO manufacturing systems, which will be manufactured at Midsummer’s facilities outside Stockholm, Sweden and delivered to the client end of 2017. This new order is a repeat order from this particular customer.

The Midsummer DUO is a compact, fully automatic deposition system for the manufacturing of CIGS solar panels. It is designed for operational stability and superior material utilization. The system is used for the manufacturing of lightweight flexible panels to cater the growing needs for portable panels and roof top installations.

2016 – a record year for Swedish leading solar energy technology provider Midsummer

Revenues nearly doubled and profits increased, due to several new orders for the company’s DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system.

2016 was an eventful and successful year for Midsummer, filled with several new orders for its compact thin film solar cell manufacturing system DUO. In its Annual Report for 2016, the company announces sales revenues of 60 MSEK, up by nearly 100 percent from the previous year, and an annual profit of 10 MSEK. To meet the increased market demand the company hired 15 new employees during the latest year.

Swedish leading solar energy technology provider Midsummer offers complete BIPV metal roof systems

[Stockholm, Sweden, April 19, 2017.] Midsummer, the Swedish leading technology provider of equipment for cost-effective manufacturing of flexible CIGS thin film solar cells, today announced the launch of a complete solution for BIPV metal roof systems together with the Swedish Metal roofing company Clix Steel Profile AB.

Midsummer has developed a rapid process for the production of flexible thin film solar cells using sputtering of all layers of the solar cell. This allows for scalable and cost-effective manufacturing of thin film solar cells. 

Midsummer can now offer a complete BIPV metal roof system. Midsummer has teamed up with the Swedish company Clix Steel Profile AB, which has developed a metal roof system that is certified for slopes as low as 5°. The system has a unique fixing principle for its steel sheets and a very competitive pricing for DIY or professional use.

“We can now offer certified BIPV products with great aesthetics. The roof plates are produced with integrated lightweight flexible panels using any type of coated steel. The lightweight, flexible panel from Midsummer is integrated already at the factory, thereby reducing installation time and cost. All connectors are well protected for snow and ice and easily accessible if necessary”, said Sven Lindström, CEO of Midsummer.

Each panel are mounted on the roof plates using a high performance elastomeric butyl adhesive tape. The tape is designed to provide excellent tack and adhesion under outside condition in the field. The standing seam roof is then installed by linking the roof plates together in one step. Finally, the PV-modules are easily connected to a system with standard connectors. All connectors and junction boxes are hidden under the ridge capping and well protected for snow and ice. It can easily be accessible if necessary. There is no visible connectors, cables or junction boxes when the roof installation is complete.

Midsummer continues to develop its unique way of manufacturing flexible thin film CIGS solar cells on individual stainless steel substrates. The company’s versatile DUO deposition tool is now a proven commercial product and its R&D focus has been on increased cell efficiency, lightweight flexible modules and integration of these modules into roofing elements.

Midsummer has received yet another order for its compact DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system from an undisclosed Asian customer. The system will be used for manufacturing of lightweight flexible panels to cater the growing needs for portable panels and roof top installations. The DUO manufacturing system will be delivered in August 2017. 

“This order makes Midsummer’s DUO the most widely distributed CIGS technology worldwide and confirms our leading position. [Stockholm, Sweden, January 26, 2017.] Midsummer, a leading supplier of production lines for cost effective manufacturing of lightweight flexible CIGS solar cells, today announced that its Asian client now manufactures lightweight flexible solar modules with conversion efficiency of 14 per cent.

Midsummer previously announced that they have sold their compact DUO solar cell manufacturing system to an Asian client. The system is in production and it produces flexible solar modules at record levels. The flexible solar module is made of cells from the client's factory in Asia. 

Midsummer’s client has now have passed 14 per cent in conversion efficiency (corresponding to 15.4% aperture area efficiency). The modules tested at the independent research institute Chemitox Inc. in Yamanashi, Japan, were made in the client’s mass production line in normal production conditions and with standard process settings with a CIGS layer less than 1 micron in thickness. 

“I am happy to announce that our solar modules indeed have increased the conversion efficiency to 14 per cent as verified by an independent testing laboratory. Inexpensive lightweight flexible solar modules

The Midsummer DUO is a compact, fully automatic deposition system for CIGS solar cell manufacturing. It is designed for operational stability and superior material utilization.

With the production system from Midsummer, the solar cells are manufactured individually and then stringed together into modules just like crystalline solar cells. This way, lightweight flexible modules can easily be made in any size and shape.

A dry, all-vacuum process has less stringent requirements for clean rooms. Avoiding cadmium in the manufacturing process is desirable for the sake of the production staff and also makes it easier to commence low cost manufacturing of CIGS solar cells.

[Stockholm, Sweden, November 7, 2016.] Sven Lindström, CEO of solar tech company Midsummer, today says that he finds Tesla’s and SolarCity’s launch of multiple styled solar roof tiles replicating original tile aesthetics very encouraging: “This is great news and exactly what the solar energy, roofing and building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) industries need! As Musk points out, it's not that complicated. Tiles with integrated PV have been around for years and may now finally take off in a big way”, comments Mr. Lindström. Midsummer is the leading technology provider of equipment for cost-effective manufacturing of flexible CIGS thin film solar cells. 

Electric vehicles maker Tesla Motors Inc recently presented a much-awaited solar roof product developed with SolarCity. The shingles are made from quartz glass and solar cells. The solution will cost less than a traditional roof when the expected utility bill savings are taken into account, the company says. In Elon Musk's plan, the solar roof is not a lonely product. The solar tiles are one element of a three-part solution, including also energy storage and electric cars.

“Starting with Tesla and the electric cars: Most major car companies has had concept cars with more or less success, but never really launched any viable products out of those concepts. That means there is plenty of space for more PV to be manufactured with any look. However, roof material manufacturers that do not have a PV solution maybe need to re-think their business model. Are they only selling water protection materials or is there a way for them to also contribute to the energy needs of the house?”

"With his holistic view, Musk puts together our needs of transport and energy with roofs and batteries. Very few companies are able to do this. You would have expected GE, ABB, Dow Chemical or maybe Saint Gobain to come up with an integrated concept, but instead it is this company in Silicon Valley that once again beat the old industrial conglomerates. Maybe there is time for some consolidation between building material manufacturers, PV companies and utilities? Are those industries transforming just as the German car industry?"

Swedish leading technology provider Midsummer receives repeat order from Asian customer for its DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system

[Stockholm, Sweden, October 3, 2016.] Midsummer, a Swedish leading technology provider of equipment for cost-effective manufacturing of flexible CIGS thin film solar cells, has received a repeat order for its compact DUO solar cell manufacturing system from an undisclosed Asian customer. This new order was received in connection with Midsummer's first system at the customer going into production with an efficiency of the solar cells of over 15 percent, which was 2 percentage points higher than the promised specification.

Midsummer has received a repeat order for its compact DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system from an undisclosed Asian customer, this after the first machine surpassed the acceptance criteria for cell efficiency by over two percentage points at the customer's production site. Due to a strong demand for lightweight, flexible modules, the customer decided to buy yet another DUO manufacturing system, which will be delivered mid 2017.

Sigtuna Municipality chooses Swedish solar cells from Midsummer - photovoltaics will power the Vikingahallen sports arena in central Sweden

[Stockholm, Sweden, September 7, 2016.] Swedish solar energy expert Midsummer, a leading provider of equipment for cost-effective manufacturing of flexible CIGS thin film solar cells, has been selected as supplier of flexible CIGS solar cells to be installed at the Vikingahallen sports arena in Märsta by the Sigtuna Municipality. Fasadglas AB's subsidiary FG Light Energy AB has been picked as the prime contractor and will carry out the installation of the solar cells from Midsummer on the sports arena.

Vikingahallen is a venue for handball and other sports in Märsta, central Sweden. In the public procurement by Sigtuna Municipality, Fasadglas AB's subsidiary FG Light Energy AB has been chosen as the prime contractor and will carry out the installation of solar panels at the sports arena Vikingahallen in Märsta.

 “The planned solar plant with flexible thin-film modules at 58 kWp will be placed on the roof facing southeast and is designed for connection/phasing to the property’s grid”, said Rickard Berg, Energy and Sustainability Coordinator, Sigtuna Municipality. “We chose lightweight flexible CIGS solar cells to evaluate them against traditional solar cells”.

Swedish solar energy expert Midsummer surpasses Chinese solar module efficiency requirements

[Stockholm, Sweden, May 19, 2016.] Midsummer, a leading supplier of production lines for cost effective manufacturing of flexible thin film CIGS solar cells, today announced that it has increased the conversion efficiency of its solar modules to more than 13 per cent to meet the requirements of Chinese authorities for receiving government support for solar installations in China.

On June 1st, 2015, China's National Energy Bureau changed the minimum requirement for CIGS thin film solar modules to 13 per cent. It was raised from the previous level of 11 per cent.

Midsummer recently passed this requirement by the Chinese authorities by increasing the efficiency of its CIGS thin film solar modules to above 13 per cent (corresponding to 14.3 per cent aperture area). The tests were carried out and verified by the certified Japanese independent testing laboratory Chemitox, Inc in March 2016.

The Chinese government’s new guidelines for CIGS modules are clear: the conversion efficiency has to exceed 13 per cent in order for qualification to its "elite program", which gives access to large government subsidies, priority in government contracts, bank loans or any public/private projects.

“It is very important to gain entry to China’s ‘elite program’ in order to enjoy all the benefits and subsidies by the Chinese government, "said Sven Lindström, CEO, Midsummer. “I am happy to announce that we have indeed passed the 13 per cent efficiency threshold as verified by an independent testing laboratory. About CIGS thin film solar cells

CIGS stands for copper-indium-gallium-selenium, a metal alloy that converts the energy of light directly into electricity by the photovoltaic effect (PV). The CIGS absorber is deposited on a stainless steel substrate, along with electrodes on the front to collect current. The cells are then connected in series and covered by a protective layer of plastic to form a flexible solar module.

Since a stainless steel substrate is used, the modules can be made without glass. The CIGS solar modules are therefore much lighter, flexible and can be made frameless, to suit applications where traditional silicon solar cells cannot be used, e.g. on structures that are uneven, moving or weak.

CIGS solar cells are manufactured by sputtering the material onto 156x156 mm stainless steel substrates. The solar cells from Midsummer are free of cadmium, a toxic material usually used in CIGS and other thin film solar cells. Swedish solar energy expert Midsummer receives repeat order for a DUO thin film solar cell manufacturing system after exceeding efficiency specifications at acceptance test

[Stockholm, Sweden, May 9, 2016.] Swedish solar energy expert Midsummer, a leading provider of equipment for cost-effective manufacturing of flexible CIGS thin film solar cells, has received a repeat order for its compact DUO solar cell manufacturing system from a not yet named customer in the Far East after a successful acceptance test in which Midsummer’s DUO system greatly exceeded the guaranteed efficiency specifications.

Midsummer has recently signed a multi million USD repeat order for its DUO system from an undisclosed multinational corporation that previously bought the system in April last year.

The repeat order was placed after a successful "Acceptance Test" done in the end of 2015 where Midsummer’s DUO system exceeded the promised efficiency specification with over 1 percentage point. Due to a strong demand for lightweight, flexible modules the customer decided to buy another DUO manufacturing system, which will be delivered in the end of 2016.

The Midsummer DUO is a compact, fully automatic deposition system for CIGS solar cell manufacturing. It’s designed for high throughput, operational stability, optimized layer uniformity and superior material utilization.
